Sorolla through light

Exhibition - Painting
Madrid

This immersive exhibition, in the Royal Palace of Madrid, is one of the great events of the “Sorolla Year”, which commemorates the centenary of the painter's death.  This is the first exhibition to offer the opportunity to enjoy the original work of Joaquín Sorolla in combination with sensory rooms and virtual reality. Sorolla's main masterpieces reproduced in high definition, with sound effects and moving images, seem to “come to life” and envelop the viewer, who will even be able to appreciate details that go unnoticed to the naked eye. Then there is a selection of 24 original paintings with the artist's most representative themes: the sea; family portraits; and royal portraits and gardens. The exhibition ends with an exciting interactive virtual reality experience that transports the public to Sorolla's time, to visit his studio and walk along the Malvarrosa beach within the painting “Women Walking on the Beach”.
