Three cultural city breaks in Spain, other than Madrid or Barcelona

none

Have you already visited Madrid and Barcelona but are looking for another cultural getaway to a European city? In Spain, you can take a cultural city break by getting a connecting or direct flight to one of the many cities brimming with cultural attractions, theatres, museums, art galleries and libraries. If culture is what stirs your soul, Spain has a wealth of art, literature and music for you: a whole world of possibilities.

Valencia, the Valencian Community.

Valencia is one of the best cities in Spain for culture. One place you must visit is the City of Arts and Sciences, a unique space for enjoying science, nature and the largest oceanarium in Europe. There are also other museums in the city, including the Fallas Museum , where you can discover the Valencian history of the figures, or ninots, that have been saved from burning during the Las Fallas festivals.

Seville, Andalusia.

In addition to the Royal Alcazar palaces, the Plaza de España and the Giralda bell tower, you should also experience flamenco dancing at a tablao and make sure to visit some museums about flamenco dancing. In the city centre and the Arenal quarter, you can also find up to 20 different contemporary art galleries with talks and activities where you can learn a bit more about the culture of Spain and other places.

Plaza de España, Seville

Palma de Mallorca, the Balearic Islands.

Palma de Mallorca is a historic city that is home to ancient hidden courtyards and religious monuments, where you can even enjoy opera. A cultural tour of this city will surprise you if you've only ever thought of this island as somewhere to enjoy sun, sea and sand.
